What cookies and browser storage are
A cookie is a small file a website saves in your browser. Browser storage (local storage and session storage) works in a similar way but stays on your device and is not sent to us automatically. Both help a site remember things between pages, such as that you are signed in.
The law allows these without asking first when they are strictly necessary for a service you ask for. Everything listed below falls in that group.
On wynoot.com and in the dashboard
| Purpose | What it does | How long |
|---|---|---|
| Signing in | Keeps you signed in and protects sign-in and forms against misuse. | Until you sign out, at most 30 days; some only until you close the browser |
| Your choices | Remembers whether you chose the light or dark look. | Until you clear it |
| Designs before sign-up | Keeps the designs you made before you created an account, so they are not lost when you sign up. | 7 days |
| Editor | Remembers which app you are editing and your unsaved editor choices. | Until you sign out or clear it |
On sites built with Wynoot
The websites and booking pages businesses create with Wynoot use the following, also only because they are needed:
| Purpose | What it does | How long |
|---|---|---|
| Language | Remembers the language you chose. | 1 year |
| Signing in | Keeps you signed in if you have an account with the business, and protects sign-in against misuse. | Until you sign out or close the browser |
| Help button | Remembers whether the “Need help choosing?” button should show, so it is not checked on every page. | 10 minutes |
Each business is responsible for its own site. If a business adds other tools to its site, such as analytics or an embedded video, it must tell you and, where needed, ask for your consent.
How to control cookies
You can see and delete cookies and browser storage in your browser settings, and block them for a site. If you block the cookies above, signing in and some pages will not work.
If we ever want to use cookies that are not strictly necessary, such as for analytics, we will ask for your consent first and update this page before we do.
